iphone 4s blue and black lines restart?

Hello, I have an iphone 4s. I've had it for about 3 years. Today, I dropped it and now the screen is frozen. It has random blue and black vertical lines across the screen now. I first found this out when i noticed that my screen wouldn't turn on at first, so I tried to reboot by holding the power button and home button at the same time, and then my screen brightened, and I could see the lines.

I tried to see if my phone is worked beside the broken screen--it still vibrates when I unsilence it, and when I plugged it into the charger, that sound that it usually makes happenned. But, the screen is unresponsive. I want to try calling my own phone, but mind that I still live under strict parents, and I only want to tell them if there is no more possible solution.

I'm guessing that I'm going to very likely ask them to take my iphone to the apple store to get it fixed. But, I want to ask anyone who's had a similar problem, have you tried letting the battery drop to zero, then after you recharged it, the lines went away?

Hello Jann3ll314,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you're seeing colored lines on your iPhone's screen. To isolate whether this is a hardware issue or a software issue, please follow through the steps below.

If you see lines, missing sections, discoloration, or poor image quality

  1. Try to restart your device. If you can't restart, force restart your device.
  2. If this doesn't work, restore your device.
  3. If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.

Take care.

Thank you.

The first thing I did to try and fix my phone was to look up ways to do so, and restarting and restoring was what I came up with. I tried doing both and it didn't work.

It turns out that people can still call my phone, and I can answer by sliding in the usual place on the screen. However, I cannot text or receive texts, or call other people(different from receiving calls.

We're trying to fix my phone by going to stores. What I know is that the issue is not with the screen itself, but with the LCD, which given an experience with a similar problem occuring with a broken tv a few years ago, is not easy to fix.
