computer wakes up at night

My new iMac 27" 5K screen will light up at night. I put the computer to sleep and the screen will light up for a minute or 2 and then go dark again. This is an issue because the computer is in the bedroom and the light wakes up my wife. Happy wife, happy life - and a tired wife isn't happy.

I've been dealing with this by shutting down in the evening, but I'm sure there is a simple item I can click to prevent this.

Thanks

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), iOS 9.2

If your Mac wakes unexpectedly

Your Mac might wake for these activities:

  • Network activity that uses the Wake on Demand feature. Examples of network activity include iTunes sharing, photo sharing, printer sharing, file sharing, and using Back to My Mac.
  • Enhanced notifications from FaceTime, Messages, and other apps and services.
  • Bluetooth activity. To prevent Bluetooth devices from waking your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. Click the Advanced Button, then deselect "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer."

We can consider the first bullet crossed off and the iMac shouldn't have enhanced notifications. Have you checked for bluetooth?
