Q: Missing mail

If my wife forwards an email to me or writes to me at my iCloud address, it shows in her Sent mail, both on the iPad, and in iCloud.  But it does not arrive in my mail. (MacBookPro, El Capitan) It gets to other recipients.  I can send mail to her. She can get it to me at my bell.net address.  I can receive mail from others on iCloud, but not from her.

I couldn’t find anything on Google to help.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

I was afraid of doing it wrong and messing up something else, and it didn't sound like a specific cure for this.

Seems that the prob is in the cloud as it shows the mail sent in my wife's iCloud, but it does not arrive in my iCloud.

Solution: I have asked her not to use my iCloud mail.

And other considerations: if the mailbox needs to be rebuilt or reset, and there is no notification to me, this could happen again and it would not necessarily be aware of it.  This was working for a while and then all of a sudden stopped. I may need to switch to a more reliable mail system.

Before considering switching to another email system/provider, have you considered calling Apple Support or maybe going into an Apple store to meet with the Genius bar?

The Genius bar is my next plan.  Thanks.

Anytime I call Apple support, it takes a very long time, and often they solve the original prob and leave me with new ones.

I agree.  I have had the disappearing email problem off and on for years.  Just recently, I noticed that my wife's emails to me show up in my iCloud mailbox and then disappear.  It only seems to be happening with emails from my wife and nothing has changed in my account.  However, I don't know what else may be missing because the email just disappears - it does not go into the trash or junk mail or where ever - it is just gone and there is no record of it anywhere.  That to me is the mark of an unreliable system - you have no idea the system is not working correctly unless someone happens to mention to you that you did not respond to their email.  Since some email comes through and others do not, there is really no other indication that things are not working correctly.  If I am in business, I need better reliability than that.  To me, iCloud email just cannot be trusted with critical business items.

I must agree with you 100% with that statement which is precisely why I use Gmail.
