Q: Finder issues. mbfloagent Metadata. framwork [Error] : mdscopystoreattributes failed: (8) (os/kern) no access
My finder often takes a very very long time to list the contents of folders.
It was like this in Yosemite and is still like this in El Capitan. I am using both Dropbox and iCloud on my Mac. I believe this started when I started when I upgraded by iCloud account and added about 30GB to it. I have both iCloud Drive and Dropbox working on my Mac.
However I have the same setup on a MacBook Pro and it does not have this problem.
I have looked in Activity Monitor and Memory Pressure is fine. I am not sure but I think it gets better when I quite some apps like Chrome and my Mail app, but hard to tell as the finder comes around after a while and not sure if it is a coincidence.
In console there is something that definitely stands out, which is that this line repeats every second, literally, constantly.
mbfloagent : Metadata. framework [Error] : mdsCopyStoreAttributes failed: (8) (os/kern) no access
Does anyone understand what this is, if it could be related, and how to fix it?
I do not see any forum comments about finder issues since mid 2015. I tried this, http://osxdaily.com/2015/04/17/fix-slow-folder-populating-cloudkit-macosx/ and it did not work for me.
Running OSX 10.11.2 on a Mid 2011 27 inch iMac
Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Only using about 1/3rd of hard drive space
Thanks for you help.
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
