Which OS disc's do I need Mini G4

I have recently purchased an older Apple Mac Mini Desktop - M9686LL/B- 1.25GHz G4 Processor, 512mb Memory, 40GB HDD

to use as an iTunes storage

It came with no OS installed or any discs.

As far as I can find out, It looks like I need 10.4 Tiger OS, but there seems to be a couple of different versions of 10.4 ?

Some discs have a Big "X" on the face & others don't. I'm not sure which discs I need to buy. I'm assuming that there is a laptop version and a Desktop version

Could someone please tell me which type of 10.4 Tiger I need to buy.

You need the computer’s original disks or a retail Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 DVD. Another Mac model’s original disks won’t work.

Hi Neil

Yes, I know I need a retail disc, but there seems to be different versions of 10.4, the discs look different

Are there different discs for laptops & desktops like the mini ?

You do not want disks with gray background since those came with a Mac and are specific to the model Mac they came with. Retail disks have a white background
