Q: Find the imei via serial number? Please help!

Is there any way of finding the IMEI number from the serial number at all?

I have an iPhone 4S, which has been smashed, so I can not get the IMEI number from the settings. I bought the phone on contract from Dialaphone in March 2014, but unfortunately they went bust some time ago, so I can't approach them to get the IMEI. They were the agent who sold the contract, but the actual contract is with Vodafone, but Vodafone still have the IMEI number of my previous phone on their record, and no details of this phone.

I read somewhere that  the IMEI number is sometimes printed on the back of the phone, but I can't see it there. I did have a backup of the phone on iCloud, but when I enquired about having the phone repaired, I was told that I had to disable "find my iphone" in order for the repair to be carried out, and as the screen isn't working, the only way of doing this was to log in to find my iphone from another device and delete the phone (including the back up) and hence I can no longer find the IMEI number from there.

After deleting the backup, I took the phone in to the store to have it repaired, but was then advised that they need the IMEI number to book it in for repair, and I have no way of obtaining it - is there any other way around this at all? I do have the serial number, because when I log on to my Apple support profile, it shows the serial number of all my devices, but unfortunately not the IMEI.

Just in case it is relevant; I'm not sure which version of iOS is running. I know that I haven't done the latest update, so guessing it's 8 point something...

Any help or advise would be very gratefully received!

Thanks in advance.
