Mac OS XAre you sure it wasn't a malicious "phishing" email? Look at the email's header area, and click on the sender (from). It should show an email address. Did it come from "something" at Apple.com? For example, notification emails from Apple Support Communities have email address discussions-updates(at)apple.com. The email address you put in your post looks fake; Apple is not "itunes.com."
Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support
I sometimes get such phishing emails that are supposedly from things like "FaceBook Support" or "Gmail Support," and I recall getting one a while back related to iCloud (which I forwarded to Apple)
