Q: iCloud for Windows Installer Error

Trying to install iCloud for Windows on 64 bit Windows 10 laptop

1. Tried installing by clicking Run

2. Downloaded to hard drive then tried to execute as administrator.

Same error for both:

iCloud for Windows Installer Error

The installer encountered errors before iCloud for

Windows could be configured.

Your system has not been modified. To retry these

operations at a later time, please run the installer again.

[50% solved... read below for experimental solution]

Hi, I had same issue. I gave up finding a solution after so many attempts doing search online, I did not have itunes installed, and hoped i could get my bookmarks via itunes. Then I don't remember if i tried installing using the installer again, or if the itunes installation automatically launched icloud installation during itunes installation, i ended successfully not having this error anymore and installed icloud successfully. It is possible that:

    1. you need to install itunes before installing icloud

    2. or you need to install icloud during itunes installation (if it offers you to do so along the way)

(tip: if still do not work: make sure you right click on the installer and install as administrator, i read this on a forum elsewhere, doesn't hurt to experiment repeating steps 1 then 2 with this tip, it maybe a solution)

    i have now icloud installed.

i still have problems syncing my bookmarks, so it's 50% solved. if anyone have tips regarding syncing my bookmarks, please let me know. i'd appreciate any tips or suggestions i could experiment with in an attempt to solve my issue. I signed with my icloud username on itunes, icloud for windows on my PC laptop, also same on my phone icloud section. i turned icloud safari on in the icloud section. still doesn't work. i cleaned my bookmarks on firefox and IE so no conflict arise later on (less headache to avoid possible duplicate problem scenario), still i see nothing happening in IE and firefox.

please note that I have iphone 4. i also have most up to date ios possible, 7.1.2

    thanks for your help.

    additional observation:

after turning safari sync button under icloud section in my settings on my iphone 4...

when i exit the icloud section, and come back to it, i find the safari sync button turned off again.

i turn on again, and accept the merge.

it's 8:05 pm now when i turned it on again.

when i keep that page open, standby my phone. then reopen the phone, the safari sync button remains turned on.

i will leave it for a while to see if things works out.

i actually checked the browser right after, bookmarks synced successfully! it seems it takes a few try to get it to work. Praise be to Allah, things stopping to work and working again without knowing much why... hehe
