Do you have "Auto Normalize" enabled in the "Garageband > Preferences > Advanced" ? Then disable it and try again to export.

If you are using iTunes to playback your songs, you may want to check the playback preference settings in iTunes as well. By default, iTunes will also normalize the loudness:
I having trouble with itunes. When I access the store and search for an artist, I get the albums. But the song list is blank.
Have you selected the correct iTunes Library?
Quit iTunes and launch it again while holding down the options key. That will let you select a different iTUnes Library.
The path to the library you are currently using is shown in the Preferences > iTunes > Advanced.
Look at the tag "Loacation of the iTunes Media Folder". Is that the correct library?
My mac is about 7 years old, In the itunes preferences, on the "general" screen, there are boxes to check. Like movies, apps, etc. But there is no box for "songs". Is that why the songs section in the store is blank"
