If 2012 is the SSD in the lower bay? That is the one closest to the bottom cover.
Before changing the cable make sure that the cable is firmly connected to the logic board as well as to the SSD.
- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

- Try starting in Safe Mode

- Boot to Recovery and repair the startup disk

- If it is repairable reinstall the OSX

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.
Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX
