Q: Unable to boot into mac or bootcamp

I was stupid to create a new partition from bootcamp so that I can share files between mac and windows easily. It converted the partitions to dynamic I think. I can't boot into mac or windows. Is there a way I can boot into mac without reinstalling ? My time machine back up is very old so I want to get back into mac without restoring it. I appreciate it very much and would follow all the instructions.

I was able to get into internet recovery and terminal.

Ok, I was able to boot into windows. The cursor was blinking on a black background for about 30 seconds and then it booted into windows. Any reason why it's taking so long to boot into windows ? I have an SSD

My bootcamp is brand new without any user files but out of 75 GB partition, only 20 GB is free. I am confused as to how could windows occupy so much space and how would I free up that space ?

Some questions that I had for future. I got into this mess because I tried creating a FAT partition that both mac and windows could read so that I can share files between both OS. What's the best way to share files between mac and windows with read/write capabilities ?

What would be a way to backup both mac and windows so that I don't have to go through this again ? Does time machine backup my bootcamp ?

I appreciate all the help you have provided. Thank you!

Does Windows Safe Mode without Networking also take the same time?

Files derive sizes from RAM on your Mac, which are fairly large. Use https://windirstat.info/ to find where your space is gone.

Can you use an external disk? Models after Late 2013 and W8.1 and higher can be installed using EFI Boot, which gives you greater flexibility.

If you use Winclone, then the output of Winclone can be backed up by Time Machine. You should keep separate back ups for each OS, preferably on separate, physical disks.

One I choose Windows after holding alt on bootup, there is a blinking cursor on top left of the screen for about 50-60 seconds (while I was pressing f8) and after long time it gave me an option to select safe mode. Booting into safe mode or normal OS from that point forward seems not an issue just the initial wait on blinking cursor after choosing the OS from boot menu is.

The MBR that was created causes a CSM-BIOS emulator to be started. It is usually slower. OS X boot does not require such a setup, because it uses native EFI.
