we have several apple products,including i-phones, laptops, macs and i-pads. my problem is with everyone getting each others messages when it wasn't supposed to be sent to them.

Stop sharing apple id for imessage then.
all devices - settings - message - send&receive - remove/uncheck the apple id.
Then create a new one for each users
messaging problems
