music cuts off mid-song

I have an Apple TV and use Home Sharing. When I play some songs they cut off mid-song and there is silence for the remainder of the playing time. If I go to the PC and play the song it plays in it's entirety. This also happens playing songs on my iPod in the car. Since the song exists in toto on the PC I shouldn't have to re-purchase it. Any ideas?
