@chris -Yeah, but that's an important one. There are a few more things to add to my android vs iphone list, That's just one

@razmee-
Screen didn't blow on phone, laptop did, which is why it will be a problem to recover that way . Which us what was in the op. There was also something in there about no computer, yet you post a link to computer recovery. Some people may not understand what to do
After getting misleading info, just for future ref. the next poster seemed to understand my question, i may not like the answer, but at least now i have one.
Yes i can blame apple for not devising a system, after all this time, to do this without a pc. Assuming computer access at all times is assuming too much.
There are a lot of people who, for various reasons, need to recover their phones, but for whatever reason cannot get on a computer.
I don't see how that warrants such a heated response, i mean wow, you love your apple - that's great, but don't assume
Things about situations you don't know about. I dont really feel i need to explain the circumstances in which this happened,
Nor explain my Passcode, or lack thereof, to get a civil answer from a "help" forum. When i answer questions in a forum, especially from a newvoner to that forum, i always try to be welcoming, to set tone for whomever to feel they CAN post without feeling uncomfortable about the response to their query. Just
A bit of food for thought.
Off to see if i can find another solution to this frustrating issue elsewhere.
Have a great day!
