Why does my Youtube look like this? The normal layout has disappeared and been replaced by this linear and lacklustre collection of words!? This is now all I get when I go on YouTube. I can watch videos, but the website seems broken. I run the most up to date Safari and Flash. How do I fix this?

Try clearing your caches and seeing if that works. 🙂
Safari Preferences --> Advanced --> Show Develop menu in menu bar --> Develop --> Empty Caches
AdBlock extension is the problem here.
Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Select “AdBlock” and click the "Uninstall" button.

If you don't want to uninstall the extension, uncheck the box beside "Enable...."
Just disable it when you are playing a YouTube video.
I don't have AdBlock installed it right now on this Mac to test.
