Q: Which Macbook models support Gigabit-speed Internet BOTH wired (thunderbolt adapter fine) AND wifi (specs are unclear and inconsistent)?
I just upgraded to 1 GB Fiber Internet - YAY - only to learn that my existing laptop cannot go over 100 MB - BOO. It's not old and not cheap, so, goodbye Windows, hello Mac! (Was switching over at next purchase anyway as I use Macs for work).
In comparing Macbook models, I cannot figure out which ones support BOTH Gigabit speed when wired (thunderbolt adapter is fine if gigabit supported by machine) AND Gigabit WiFi. I saw one spec that said 801n was gigabit and 801ac was not, which I thought was the opposite of reality, so I do not trust the spec sheets, and I really do not trust sales people to know this information.
Models to consider:
-Only current/new models, so no worries about older ones
-Macbook Air and Pro models, so no worries about the Macbook
Help!
Thanks

All current models. However the laptops wil need an adapter to supply an Ethernet connection. The USB Apple one will not be adequate though, it's not Gigabit Ethernet.
