Hi All,
I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to El Capitan and now my Sidebar folders are missing from Finder!
One site suggested just rebooting would solve the problem, but it hasn't.
Not only that but the ability to add folders to the sidebar has been disabled/is broken. I can't drag a folder into the sidebar.
This appears to be a known bug. Is there a solution yet?

This is a silly question, but have you tried starting Finder and then from top menu bar select "View" and then "Show Sidebar"?
Show and hide folders under "Favorites" in Finder Sidebar
Launch Finder.
Hover the mouse pointer next to Favorites and when "Show" shows up click it.
Thanks for the suggestions. The problem was that my sidebar field from before El Cap was installed were all gone and replaced with ones I didn't want. I have since rebuilt my sidebar, but it took a bit of time.
