ipod nano not recognized

so i bought a new ipod nano 8th generation from walmart. i plugged it into my laptop when i got home and it said ipod detected but not recognized. i went to the apple support page here. iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support and i did every single one of these. and it still does nothing to fix the problem. so is there any additional methods i can try because if not, i'm returning it for a new one.

The current iPod nano is 7th gen (although it got some new colors recently)...

Shut down (power off) you computer and disconnect all USB devices. Do this to Reset (restart) your iPod.

Start up your computer, run iTunes, and connect iPod (by itself) to a direct USB port on computer.

If that does not help, this topic and post marked as "solved" seems to have helped a lot of people

iPod detected but not recognized??

Well finally I decided to call apple support and it turns out problem is that I upgraded my windows 8 to windows 10 and it interfered with my iTunes. With the tech's help, we uninstalled everything from Apple, iTunes, Apple mobile support, bonjour, etc. restarted it and then re-installed and updated iTunes and that finally fixed it. but thank you for the advice anyways 🙂
