Q: Distorted sound from internal speakers after installing El Capitan

Am I the only one who is having troubles with internal speakers after installing OSX El Capitan in my Macbook Pro? After the install process, the sound from my internal speakers is distorted, you hear it but it seems to have a very bad quality, like if it was a very old radio. Before El Capitan, everything was OK with my internal speakers, but now the sound is really bad! I have a 13-inch, Mid 2009 Macbook Pro. Sound from other sources different from internal speakers (Digital, HDMI, Headphones) is working perfectly.

PD: Sorry for my english!

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

    Hi AndreyMG,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I see that the internal speakers on your MacBook Pro sound distorted, and this happened after upgrading to OS X El Capitan. You've done a good job of isolating the behavior to the internal speakers, since other audio output works perfectly.

You may want to try starting up in safe mode to see if there's any change in the behavior--OS X El Capitan: Start up in safe mode. This can rule out potential software conflicts (such as with 3rd party audio software).

After this test, there are two main ways to verify whether this is caused by OS X itself or your Mac hardware:

    Best Regards.
