If only the screen needs to be replaced, $129. If there is internal damage, the costs will be higher, up to $ 329, if the whole unit has to be replaced.

Screen repair service pricing

Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPhone model and your AppleCare product coverage. Apple will run a diagnostic test to determine whether your iPhone has experienced additional damage. If it has, or if it needs other repairs, you may need to pay an out-of-warranty service fee. Accidental damage isn't covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty.

Model Screen repair cost
iPhone 6 $109
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 $129
iPhone 6s Plus $149

Plus a $6.95 shipping fee, if required. Fees are in USD and exclude local tax. Pricing is for service through Apple. The final service fee we charge will be determined during testing. Pricing and terms vary for service through an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Out-of-warranty repair service

If your repair isn’t covered by Apple’s One Year Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or AppleCare Protection Plan, your iPhone might be eligible for out-of-warranty service. For example, liquid damage isn’t covered by warranty but might be eligible for out-of-warranty service. Some damage isn’t eligible at all, for example if your device has been broken into multiple pieces. See Apple’s Repair Terms and Conditions for complete details.

This is EXACTLY true. Because of the 3 day appointment wait time at the local Apple store, I opted to got to a third party repair shop. They replaced the cracked screen for $159. which is higher than Apple's quoted price. The phone worked fine for a couple months, but then went haywire, and would execute programs and typing, even making calls by itself. I took the phone to the Genius Bar, and was told they could not, would not , work on my phone because of the 3rd party repair. Ultimately its a case of reading the fine print and non-disclosure by the third party. My only option now is to buy another 6+ because my phone has a poltergeist in it.
PS.. Cracked screen partially courtesy of Lifeproof. I'm on my 3rd replacement, and cracked the screen while waiting for the replacement to arrive..

This will be my last apple phone, it cannot survive my lifestyle, and between my kids and myself we've owned 8 units. Customer loyalty flies out the window when they hold you feet over the fire with semantics a robotic "policy"

And what makes you think the policy of other manufacturers is any different? You break your phone, it voids the warranty and the company is not liable for any unauthorized modifications done by third party entities. So say Apple would fix your third party modified phone, and it developed a problem down the line. Who's to say your problem was not caused by the third parties "service"?

Good luck with your Samsung...or whatever you decide to buy...

Interesting. Your phone was damaged by a non-authorized repair shop and you hold Apple responsible. Why don't you demand that your repair shop fix the damage that they caused?
