How to subscribe or favorite videos in YouTube on 4th Generation Apple TV

On the 3rd generation Apple TV, it was originally possible to subscribe to a youtube channel or add a video to favorites by pausing the video and using the pop up menu. On the new Apple TV (4th generation) is it only possible to subscribe to a channel by searching for the channel first? As far as liking or adding a video to a playlist (such as favorites or watch later), is it still something that can be done?

Apparently no one knows why you can't subscribe to youtube channels on an ATV 4th gen... wow! I think Apple has disabled this feature. Just like they have made it impossible to find pretty much anything on any of the major providers, like Netflix and Hulu. The menu system on the 4th gen appletv is close to useless in my opinion!!!!
