Q: updating i-cloud with new e-mail and password, had work e-mail

I have

Model:    iPhone 5s 

Version:   9.2 

Serial number:    F2*******NJK 

IMEI:    ******

The I-Cloud on this phone has my old work e-mail and I don't know the password.  I used the secondary e-mail address to have it reset and never received the e-mail.  I am trying to put my new I-Cloud account on phone and cannot delete the old one because it keeps asking me for a password.  Is there a work around this?
