Mac OS X FTP Acess- Help.

I managed to get my ftp up and running using the built in ftp acess in Mac OS X Tiger. but it seems like i cannot give permission or user acess. Seems like everyone can just visit my ftp server. Anyway i can add User and Pass to it so only ppl i want to acess. Instead of being annyomous? Thanks!

Thanks. But my question is if they can acess my computer can i restrict access. so only people like my self can access using a "USER n Pass"? i can get the ftp to work but it seems like everyone can access it using annyomusly acess. does not req. user n pass. But i want to have user n pass there is no options in the FTP pref. to add user n pass.... and if window users wanna acess my computer they'd type smb://ipaddress in IE or FTP where??? sorry i'm new to mac had it for 4 months trying to learn everything. and i am also doing research on google. Thanks a million!

First off het Sharepoints...
http://www.hornware.com/sharepoints/

It will allow you to set What you want to Share with Whom, and/or Groups, in both AFP and SMB.

From Macs... typing afp://ipaddress into any Browser... IE,Safari/Firefox, should bring up the User/Password box, then present which Shares that person can see/use.

I presume smb://ipaddress works on/from a Windows® browser, but since all my PCs are switched over to Linux, I cannot attest to that facet.
