Note that you should move the photos from the SD card to the computer first and leave them on the computer as every time you do the sync iTunes will compare the current settings in iTunes and the photos on the computer to what is already synced to the phone; if the photos are no longer on the computer or no longer included in the iTunes sync settings, they will be deleted from the phone when you sync again.

You would not be able to just move them from the SD card to the iPhone. You do not have access to the file system to do that. You need to move them from the SD card to a folder on the computer, then with the iPhone connected to the computer and iTunes, select what photos you want to sync.
