Reset the SMC and the NVRAM:

Then try a safe boot:

If there is no change, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar. The evaluation will be FREE.

My Mac Mini developed a similar problem, after five years. It seems the pink screen results from failed video components. There's a few possible solutions, though.

Consider Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) by following the procedures listed: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

Consider resetting the NVRAM via the procedures listed: How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

My issue seems to stem from a faulty graphics chipset on my Mac Mini's motherboard. If your MBP is a late model, I'll guess it's the same problem and solution. If you had a Mac Pro, you should be able to swap out video cards. Mac Mini and MBP owners are SOL, don't know about iMacs.

I will investigate costs of a new motherboard installation, ugh.
