Delete multiple Outgoing Mail Servers iOS

Trying to help my mother in law set up Mail on her iPad. Her provider is a small firm so I have to use Other. iOS seems to store multiple Outgoing Mail Servers for some reason. Is there a way to delete the multiple servers? I have deleted the email account and restore it several times and there seems to be some retained memory because it add another Outgoing Mail Server. When I try to update all other OMS to match the most recent, it hangs in the Verifying stage. Thanks.
