Do you have a different name for 5ghz?

Does it work on a channel that your client can also work on?? There are many difficulties on 5ghz.

What is the client? If it is a NON-APPLE product you need to understand apple and PC world do things a bit differently.

    Have you simplified the network.

ie Use a short name.. no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. different from 2.4ghz name?

Have you tested with no password?

Have you tested trying manually with different channels while having no password and short name?

If you have tried all the channels with the above criteria.. the drivers in the client will not allow it to connect so you have a incompatibility issue.

The network automatically added GHz in the end

I am using Macbook pro early 2011 edition. I can see the 5GHz network  available, I am guessing if i am able to see the 5Ghz network my macbook should be able to connect on that channel.

The network did have spl character, I renamed the same and updated still no luck, After renaming i cant see the 5Gzh network.

    No. I will try

I will try different channels and update.

Ok.. this is one I can show you how to do.

    1. I created a different name on the 5ghz band to force the connection. If you have both bands available.. the Mac will join the best signal.. never the fastest network.

    2. Select the 5ghz in the Mac.. I am running a 2011 on el capo

    3. This is the result on the wireless network preferences.

There are a number of ways this can fail.

Did you upgrade install El Capo?? That can mess up the wireless driver.

So tell us the full story.. and some screenshots of the TC setup helps loads.

Just the summary page and the wireless and network tab can tell me a lot.

The only thing that can prevent it working is distance.. ie you are too far away to pick up the signal.

Or the driver got mashed up in the upgrade.

I recommend you do a NVRAM and SMC reset.

This has helped some people.. or you do a clean install of the OS.. after a full backup.

I am 4 feet apart from the timecapsule. NVRAM reset  didnt help either.

Sorry but clean install is about all that is left.

I was looking for wireless issues.. and the major issues with Yosemite seem to be mostly cleared up.. but it can be worthwhile still going through the fixes people dreamed up for Yosemite.
