Q: CANT DOWNLOAD IMOVIE ON MAC.

I have an older version macbook, it didn't come with the ilife bundled apps. (bought used) I'm trying to download iMovie right now, i have enough money in my iTunes account, but every time i hit "buy" under the iMovie app it won't do anything. the little loading sign appears but nothing happens. Ive tried restarting the app, same thing. help???

I understand you are unable to download the newest version of iMovie on your MacBook. Here is a troubleshooting article that I would go through when experiencing this issue with the Mac App Store.

Troubleshooting the Mac App Store

If the article above doesn't resolve the issue, the next thing we would want to look at is the version of Mac OS X that is installed. The current version of iMovie requires Mac OS X 10.10.5 or later.

iMovie

Find the OS X version and build number on your Mac

If your Mac does not meet the system requirements for iMovie and depending on the specifications of your Mac, you may be able to update to the most current OS X version.

Upgrade to OS X El Capitan.
