Q: Cables to transfer data between Mac Minis

I have a 2009 Mac Mini with a Firewire 800 port along with the usual USB 2.0 ports. I have recently upgraded to a brand new Mac mini with Thunderbolt ports and USB 3.0. To do the initial transfer of data I'd like to connect the two directly rather than rely on wifi speeds and wondered what the best cable connection option would be?

FireWire. Get a Thunderbolt>FireWire adopter and connect the two via FW and boot the old Mac in target Disk Mode.

You can also connect the two via Ethernet, a lot better than wifi
