Weird problem with google search on Safari 9.0.2

Hi all,

I've been experiencing a weird problem with google search on Safari recently. After searching for something from the Google homepage and the search page has loaded, I can't seem to be able to edit or type in anything into the google search bar anymore. I have to reload the google page every time in order to search for something else. Google search worked fine on Firefox though.

I'm using the latest version of Safari (9.0.2) and I've tried clearing all history and website data but nothing has worked so far. My Mac is running on OS X Yosemite if that matters.

Can anyone figure out what the problem is? 😟

Thanks.

If you have problems opening webpages, take a look at these troubleshooting techniques suggested by Apple.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204098

Go to Safari menu (At the very top right side of your screen next to Apple icon), choose "Quit Safari"

press "Shift" button and while holding this button on your keyboard single click on the Safari icon on your Dock.

Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - Remove All Website Data.

Open the Go menu with Option (Alt) key pressed - Library - locate Safari folder and move it to your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the folder from your desktop.

Also, a restart may help.

Oh my goodness... This was the problem all along! 😮 I can edit the google search bar now after closing the message box. It's quite weird since I used to see those kind of google messages at the side all the time even when I'm using Firefox. I think the problem happened to me only after the new Safari 9.0.2 update.

Thanks for the help everyone! 🙂
