Q: Siri can't execute commands after restore

Hi,

I recently did a DFU restore to try to fix some battery problems on my iPhone 6 (didn't work, but let's leave that aside for now). Restoring my apps from iCloud backup was very spotty. It would get stuck with no errors. I found that going into iCloud settings, re-entering my Apple ID password and restarting would get it to work for a while. Finally after doing that a few times my backup is fully restored...

But now Siri doesn't work for most functions that access data on my phone. I've tried re-entering my iCloud password, restarting my phone... nothing. Not an internet issue as it doesn't work on wifi or LTE"

What I sayWhat Siri does
"Call [name of wife]"Dictates correctly, even with strange spelling of my wife's name, processes for a long time then returns "Uh oh, there's a problem"
"Set an alarm for 7am"Dictates correctly, "Setting the alarm…" then "I'm having a bit of trouble here... Can you please try that again?"
"Text [name of person] testing 123"Dictates correctly, "Sorry, I don't see 'name of person' (spelled correctly) in your contacts."
"What's 2+2?"4
"What's the weather today?"Works
"Launch weather"It doesn't look like you have an app named 'weather'
"Siri I hate you""After all I've done for you?"

Any help would be really appreciated!!!

    Hi Aaron,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that after restoring your iPhone, you notices some issues with Siri not responding as expected. We know that situations like this, especially after a restore, can be frustrating, but we are here to help!

To continue troubleshooting, I would suggest reading over and working through the suggested steps from the following article.

If Siri isn't available, or doesn't understand or respond to questions

After each step, see if you still need help:

    1. Make sure that your iOS device has an Internet connection through Wi-Fi or cellular data.
    2. On your iOS device, make sure that Siri is turned on under Settings > General > Siri.
    3. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    4. On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Then turn it on again.
    5. Make sure that the microphones on your device aren't blocked. For example, if your device has a protective case, remove it.
    6. If you're using an iOS device, try to use Siri with a headset. If Siri works, get more help with the microphones on your device.
    7. Contact Apple Support.

im having the exact same issues. Siri doesn't respond and apps get stuck updating/downloading on 6s 9.2.1. I get the exact same error messages from the exact same request as the previous user.

I've tried all of your suggestions as well as resetting my network settings. Nothing works. Rebooting the phone will get Siri to work for 1 request then the issues resume.
