Jan 18, 2016 6:57 AM in response to thunderzzzby Ishi2,I have reported this to Apple. I'm asking for a way to:
mark this type of e-mail as "spam" or "junk" without blocking my own e-mail I send to myself?
-
Jan 18, 2016 7:00 AM in response to Ishi2by lllaass,You can't since they spoofed the sending email address.
-
Jan 18, 2016 7:05 AM in response to lllaassby Ishi2,Exactly. Spoof, good name for it.
So you are saying, I really can't do anything about it? Okay, but I can't help wondering just how someone can do this and I can't stop it?

Jan 18, 2016 7:33 AM in response to Ishi2by Grant Bennet-Alder,★HelpfulThe junk mail filter is pretty smart and it learns as you mark and unmark things.
Try marking this as Junk, then check in the Junk Mail folder from time-to-time for the "copies to self" emails, and mark them as "not Junk" until it learns.
On the other hand, I don't expect you will get another junk mail with this exact setup, so you could just ignore this one and Trash it.

Jan 18, 2016 7:26 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Ishi2,That's the best answer I've had so far. I do use the Junk filter and Rules on all my e-mail boxes with good success, I just didn't think setting myself in the Rules or Junk was the way to go, but I suppose it's worth a shot. Would it be worthwhile to use "Perform custom actions?" and then use the Advanced feature? To me, that just looks like another place to add "Rules"

I believe this is the second time I've received one like this.

Jan 18, 2016 7:43 AM in response to Ishi2by Grant Bennet-Alder,★HelpfulI do not suggest you compose a Rule yourself. I deliberately suggested you simply mark this specific email as junk, then check for others that may be mis-classified as Junk as well, then un-mark them Junk.
Let the computer do the hard work.

Jan 18, 2016 7:42 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Ishi2,Okay, I got it, junk, not Rule. Thanks, Grant. Stuff like this really hacks me off. I use Network Solutions to host my domain and e-mail and POP3 it to Mail. I wonder if it is possible I could have something like this intercepted or blocked there, before it comes to Mail?
