Q: Watch is showing incorrect time.  5 hours. iPhone is correct.

A friend's Watch is showing incorrect time. it reads 5 hours ahead.  We're in NYC so it's showing UTC, if that means anything.  I can't find any Prefs the cover this.

    Hi

Try restarting your friend's watch: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off; when it has finished turning off, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Thanks, we tried restarting watch and phone.  Next thing I guess is to unpair the watch and relink.I thought there might be some config I was missing.

If the watch states "UTC" on the screen, then you are likely referring to the World Clock watch face complication.

Complications are features that can be added to customisable areas of the watch face. They can be used to display information from apps (like World Clock) whilst also viewing the time on your watch.

    To customise complications:

    - When viewing the time on the watch face, press firmly on the screen, then tap on the Customise button.

    - Swipe left until you can select individual face features > Tap the one that is currently being used for a World Clock > Turn the Digital Crown to choose a different World Clock location (it offers each location that is set up in the Clock app on the paired iPhone) or to choose a complication from a different app > When finished, press the Digital Crown.

Thanks but it's not the complication.  It's the hands of the watch that are fast.  I just noted that it was showing what UTC would be (5 hrs ahead of NYC).  I'll have him do an unpair and pair to see if that fixes it.

On the iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Location Services:

    - Check that this is turned on.

    - Scroll down to the list of apps and check that Apple Watch Faces is set to While Using.

As you have already tried a normal restart, next try force restarting both devices (iPhone first, followed immediately by the watch, whilst the iPhone is still restarting):

    - iPhone: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.

    - Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.

If the issue persists, then proceed with unpairing and re-pairing:
