If you are getting an error when trying to update the iOS version of your iPhone, use the steps in this article to resolve it - Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes.
If your issue persists, this article has steps specific to the error code 9 you are getting - Get help with iOS update and restore errors. Specifically -
Check your security software
Errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1611, 9006.
Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.
If you still see the error message, check for USB connection issues.

thanks, already tried all that and i sucssfully updated other iPads from this computer with no errors or issues
this seems to be a specific ipad 2 issue when attempting to update from 4.3.5 to 9.2
i found many posts with the exact same repro and issues, is there anything else u can recommend? Many thanks
