Q: Experimented with a 'fictional' @mac.com Apple ID and cannot change it back
Hi all,
So a few years ago, a younger me did something really silly and that was changing his Apple ID from his own personal email address—which he liked—to some random @mac.com email address which, not only did it not even exist, it also wasn't even a good email address, even for a fictional one. I submitted it, Apple accepted it. Soon afterwards, however, I came upon an extremely upsetting realisation of a fact that one cannot simply change an Apple ID ending in a @mac.com.
Been living with that disappointing fact for years now and I'm feeling like speaking that disappointment out to the community.
So, I'm just wondering, have any of the Support Community members ever been in the same situation as I have? What did you guys do; did you find success in persuading Apple to change a @mac.com Apple ID to something else? Or to those who are fortunate not to be in this kind of situation, any ideas on what should I do? (Pretty sure most of the ideas would be for me to just live with it...)
Appreciate your thoughts!
