When I plug in my iPhone 6s Plus to get my music off iTunes to my iPhone it says iTunes needs to be updated, I checked for updates and there are none, it says I'm updated to the 12.1.2 version does anyone know how to fix this problem or has anyone had this problem and know what to do?

If you are running Windows 10, then the latest iTunes version is actually 12.3.2: http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6562#versions. Good luck!
I have the same problem. Just bought a new IPhone 6S Plus and it can't sync with iTunes 12.3.2. I am sure when they get enough complaints, they'll provide us an update for ITunes that will fix this problem. I found tons of complaints regarding the same thing on the internet.

If you are running iTunes 12.3.x, then your issue is not with the iTunes version. Please provide the exact text of your error message and the issue you are experiencing.

My iPhone is brand new and works well with everything but iTunes. I am not even getting an error message. Their is no way to sync with iTunes (there is no phone to click.) I rebooted my iPhone and downloaded the newest iTunes (for the second time). I don't know what else to do and nobody I've encountered has a fix. I tried my son's new phone too and we're both having the same problem. Any suggestions? Never had this problem with any of my other iPhones or other versions of iTunes.
What version of iTunes is running on your computer? If it is not 12.3.x, then that is the issue.
If it is 12.3.x, then try these troubleshooting steps (whichever one applies to the type of computer you are using):
