RAID volume icons color amber/gold

Had a RAID volume icon on the desktop change from blue to Amber/gold. Any idea why this happens? I checked it with disk utility and got errors and said it couldnt repair the disk. checked it again and it said the volume is fine. RAID 5 set is degraded. Says the drive in Bay 3 failed. I made it a Spare and it's now in the midst of it's redundancy protocol. Drive icons are still gold. Can't figure out why the color changed. Is it because the set is degraded?
