Q: I am not getting all texts/messages on my Messages on Macbook Pro. All come through my iPhone ok

I am not getting all texts/messages on my Macbook Pro, but all come to my iPhone. Any idea what I need to do to get all through the computer too?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Unless you have the following setup you will only get Messages send to the Apple ID on the Mac:
Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support
Link your iPhone number and Apple ID to use iMessage and FaceTime

I have followed all steps to enable the text messages to my Pro, however I did not receive the "code" I am supposed to enter. Where is that located on the Macbook Pro?
