Q: Can't Find iweb file

Hi,

I switched computers and saved everything from former computer via time machine on an external HD. my new machine has iweb but doesn't have my former iweb sites created on the former computer. When i go to the folders that were saved by time machine and click on the iweb app a box comes up that says, "You can't open the application iweb.app because it is in a Time Machine backup."   What's the use of saving files and apps via time machine if you can't even open up lousy program that time machine saves????

Any help is appreciated.  I am trying to find one of the sites in the former Iweb app and i'm aware of the domain.sites2 which doesn't work Thanks! joe

Have you manually verified /Users/Your_user_name/Library/Application Support/iWeb for the Domain file?

As for the Time Machine backup - I offer no answer. I don't like TM, and don't use it.

From the TM backup can you simply restore the iWeb.app file (package)?

That's because Apple in their wisdom decided to hide the Library folder so people don't accidentally mess up their system. In Finder - click the "Go" menu, and hold down the Option key. The library entry shows up and you can navigate from there.

sidenote: Often the Option key (between CMD and CTRL) will change menu items... play with it in different programs.
