I know the Lightning to 30 pin Adapter M/N MD823AM/A supports line level audio as it contains within a Wolfson DAC chip.
Does the Lightning to 30pin Adapter 0.2m version M/N MD824AM/A also contain a DAC within?

I understand you are curious if the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m) supports audio. This adapter, which is model MD824AM/A, does support audio only.
This cable is 8 inches/0.2 m long. It supports analog and USB audio output. It does not support video output.

watch out, the sound quality is so bad!!! I would not recommend it - Poor sound quality with lightning Adapter / 44.1kHz / iOS 9.2
Is there a difference between the MD823AM/A and MD824AM/A regarding the sound quality?
I've tested both of them - no difference regarding the sound 😟
Will this cable allow an iPhone 5S to connect to a docking station that connects with RCA cables to a stereo system and play the audio? If so, are there any settings I need to change? The docking station to stereo works with my old 30 pin iPod but so far will not work with my 5S with a 30 pin to lightning cable.
