iTunes has stopped working ( CoreAudioToolbox.dll )

I've never had an issue with iTunes before however, I recently updated it and have been given the error every time I try to start it:

I've tried everything in this troubleshooting guide Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates but nothing works. Anyone able to fix the problem?

iTunes-OTHER, Windows 7, Ultimate Edition 32-bit

Such errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. CoreAudioToolbox.dll is part of Apple Application Support and can normally be found in

  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support or
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

where the name of the Program Files folder may vary by region.

If that doesn't work a full tear down and rebuild as given in the second box of the user tip should.
