Save Alternate Routes

When I show real estate to my clients there are many times when I have to select one of the alternate routes in Maps because the route selected by Maps does not have a guard gate to allow entry. The problem is that when I select the alternate route and send to iPhone or Save to Favorites, it does NOT save the alternate route and reverts back to route selected automatically.
