I have a dell laptop with windows 7 and I have never had issues with itunes. I just updated to 12.3.2.35. It seems to work fine but usually after a couple of minutes it crashes, or when I connect my iphone 4 a windows message appears saying "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer: start or stop mobile device service". If I click yes, itunes will function for another 30 seconds or so then crash. If I click no an itunes error message tells me my iphone could not be recognized because modile device service was not started, then itunes still crashes. If I reopen it, it crashes again within a couple of minutes regardless of whether my phone is connected. I have tried reinstalling at least 4 times, I've tried installing older versions of itunes which fail to install or refuse to open and I have tried a variety of other recommendations from forums that have all had no effect. Please help me before I lose my mind
