I then assume that your MBP is second hand because 2012 Macs from Apple were offered with a maximum of 8 GB RAM. Macs have a well deserved reputation of being selective when it comes to RAM. Some brands, even with the 'correct' specifications, do not do well in a Mac. The only way to insure that the current RAM is not the culprit is to install known 'good' RAM, but that presents you with a possible unnecessary expense.
I suggest that you try this:

An error free AHT is not conclusive. Should that occur, download and run Rember from the Kelley Computing web site:
http://www.kelleycomputing.net/rember/
Run it overnight to make certain that enough loops are executed.
The last option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and see if they can use their forensic tests to determine if the RAM is or is not faulty.
