Music App won't open after updating to iOS 9.2.1

After my backup and restore from within iTunes (and the iPhone rebooted), when I opened Music again, it took a little while, but the woman with the Beats headphones finally transitioned into a request for either starting Apple Music or going to My Music (and I took the latter).

So hang in there after the backup and restore for several seconds once you restart your iPhone/iPad/iPod. Apple/My Music should be back soon enough.

I had yesterday the same problem. Follow this steps.

1. Close all apps in multitask.
2. Go to Settings > Music > Enable "Show Apple Music"
3. Force restart your iPhone, press simultaneously power and home button until you can see apple icon.
4. Now, go again to Settings > Music > And disable "Show Apple Music"
5. Go to Music app and you can see information about Apple Music Subscription, Below should appear "Go to my music"

Thanks for that. This worked for me too but without the need to restart my phone:

1. Close the Music app in multitask
2. In Settings / Music - Enable "Show Apple Music"
3. Open the Music app - still nothing works
4. Close the Music app in Multitask
5. In Settings / Music - Disable "Show Apple Music"
6. Open the Music app - after a few seconds the screen will offer "Join Apple Music" or "Go to my music"
7. Select "Go to my music" and all is okay

This worked for me as well. This happened before updating to iOS 9.2.1. Must be a bug with Apple Music. I didn't get the option to go to My Music until I moved the switch in settings. When I reopened Music, then the option to go to My Music was there.

Similar to what others had success with, I had to instead click the Join Apple Music button in Settings - Music which actually took me past the frozen music screen. Once I did that I had to click on the Apple Music icon at the bottom and decline the offer. Music has been working ever since.

This is just ridiculous that you have to do that. I don't want apple music and seems like they are forcing it down our throats.

This worked too but should never have made it past the testers. This is a major bug.

I totally agree, every time there is an update it seems like there is some 'issue' that pertains to Apple Music. If I wanted it I would subscribe to it. When things are forced on me I want it even less than I did before.

A simple reboot did the trick for me.

I tried switching on and off but I still see the women with a pair of beats, nothing else. HELP

Never mind, suddenly it worked. I went to the Settings - Music and then there was "Join the Dark side" no wait sorry "Join the Apple Music" and voila, it worked. Thanks all

I have done everything suggested in this thread, and my music STILL won't open! This is unacceptable! I'm at work without anything to listen to while I work at my desk! When can we expect a fix for this? What else can I possibly do?
