I am using the Far Far Away title and the words are going to fast. When I right click on the frame, the Speed Editor is graded out. Also the Speed icon which is a clock is graded out.
This was a bug in version 10.1 but I have just tried it in version 10.1.1, released yesterday and now it works again as before. The scrolling spaeed varies so that it completes in the duration set for the title.

When i checked the version that i am working in, it says 10.1.1. Also, my CC does not tell me that i need a software version update. Should i reinstall?
Are you sure its not working? To slow down you extend the duration of the title. You can't use the speed editor on titles.

Just like cyn_m_g I have made the update to the last version, but yet I'm still experiencing the same issue only with the Far Far away title. Wether I extend the title to 1min or make it shorter to 4 sec the scrolling speed of the text remains the same. I am using iMovie version 10.1.1 and OSX El Capitan version 10.11.3 Is there a way to fix this?
I've just tested a new Far Far Away title in a project on my 2007 MacBookPro running OS 10.11.3 with iMovie 10.1.1 and it works fine - scrolling speed reduces as duration of title is increased. (Previously I only tested on a 2013 Mac Pro).
Delete the old problematic title and replace - if this doesn't work I don't know what to suggest other than an iMovie 10.1.1 reinstall.

No. Your library is completely separate from the application.
By content I mean all the media content (clips and music) used so far for the creation of that movie that is currently unfinished, will that be lost or everything is separated in the library?
You won't loose any media content and music - its all in the library together with your projects. You will be able to continue editing where you left off.
