I recently re- inherited an old Bondi Blue Imac running 9.2.
I can't remember the password, and although I have the disk, it doesn't help
because the cd-drive apparently isn't reading the disc.
Can I do anything to reset it and see what is on the hard drive.

I have asked the moderators to move this discussion to the "iMac (PPC)" discussion area.
You could try simply holding down the Shift key upon start up to disable the extension of keychain.
