Q: forgot password for iMac bondi blue

I recently re- inherited an old Bondi Blue Imac running 9.2.

I can't remember the password, and although I have the disk, it doesn't help

because the cd-drive apparently isn't reading the disc.

Can I do anything to reset it and see what is on the hard drive.
