I tried to open Itunes and got a message telling me it was corrupt and to reinstall. I tried that and got error 7 Windows error 126. Also Applepush service dll missing. I have tried things that I read here but nothing has worked. Please HELP me. :-)

I have been trying to get my iTunes to open since before Christmas. I got an original error message saying that the file was corrupt or installed incorrectly and to reinstall it. I did that and I got and error message Error 7 (Windows error 126). I read on this site and the microsoft site how to fix this error and nothing has worked with the exception that I now have a new error message Apple Push Service.dll missing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes so many time I have lost count. Please Help Me.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Hi. I did what the email said and I still got the error message Error7 (Windows error 126). I tried to install itunes from the web site I got the same error message. Then I followed the instructions again and tried installing itunes with the older video card and that didn't work either same error message. I have installed itunes on my husbands computer and now I can't get my library on it because its synced with another library. Am I just screwed?? or do I have to take my laptop in to a computer place to have them do it?

Thanks for your help

Work carefully through the steps in the second box again.

If they don't work to repair iTunes uninstall all components and then use the section Install missing components.

Which component, if any, fails to install?

Apple expect you to sync your devices with a single library. If you really cannot get your instance of iTunes working it is possible to backup your library to an external drive, then access that on the other computer.

I did follow the instructions again this morning and tried to install iTunes again and I got these two messages: iTunes was not installed correctly Error 7 (Windows error 126) and iTunes helper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7. So I tried to reinstall and marked the repair instead of install and got those two messages again. I also installed 7-zip so I'm not sure if that helped. I have an external drive to transfer if all else fails but I can't open my library to down load it?
