Hi there,
I have the same problem where my trackpad stopped functioning but only when voice over is turned on. As someone who relies on voice over this is very inconvenient always having to carry a mouse on me. Would be very thankful if you have a solution. By the way I have checked that 'ignore trackpad when mouse is present' is not selected.

Many thanks

Greetings id542,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that after accidentally activating and then disabling VoiceOver on your Mac, the built in trackpad is no longer working as expected. If this is correct, because you were in the Accessibility settings, I would first check and make sure the feature Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present isn’t selected.

To open this pane, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Mouse & Trackpad.

Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present

Disable the trackpad on your Mac when you use a mouse or wireless trackpad.

If you use a non-Apple mouse, the driver software that came with your mouse may prevent this option from working as expected. For information, see the documentation for your mouse.
