Q: Can anyone confirm that a square-end 85w connector can be used in a 13"MacBookPro 2012? I hate the L-shape 60w connector.

Can anyone confirm that a square-end 85w connector, e.g. as provided with MacBook Air, can be used for a 13"MacBookPro early 2012? I hate the L-shape 60w connector that was issued with this laptop. My previous little white MacBook's power cable had the square-end connector and it worked GREAT. The L-shape one is awkward to attach, and it does NOT quick-disconnect should someone trip over the power cord. Thanks.

Forgot nothing: in my space nearby, are four.

These are not members of the 'empty set.'

Post when you have them, so you can show them FYI

MacBooks have only had 3 connectors in their lives the Magsafe1 (T and L shape) and the Magsafe2

1's are interchangeable, 2's not so.

I need to dig around and see if there is an OLD one somewhere at home. I've had Macs since God was a boy. I just find the L-shape one that is meant for my current non-retina early 2012 13" MBP to be un-apple-like, awkward, not of their typical elegant, intuitive design. It is stiff, awkward to snap in, etc. I'm repeating myself. I will get a Genius appointment, though. I appreciate the discussion. Thanks.

The L shaped and the T shaped magsafe use the same connector in different sockets. There is no other magsafe except for the magasafe 2 which us a different socket.

How hard is this really, 2 sockets (magsafe 1 and 2) and 2 enclosures shapes for the magsafe 1. L shaped and T shaped are interchangeable, there is no T shaped magsafe 2, only L.
